Seabrook in the Winter & GT at 16 Months

On New Year's Day right at Grace Taylor's bedtime, Monica and I drove to Seabrook. From now traveling at night is a must for the Little family. Grace slept the whole way making for a peaceful, pleasant drive. Seabrook was absolutely beautiful! There was hardly a soul there, and it was sunny and fairly warm. We went for a walk on the beach, and Grace Taylor had the time of her little life. This Summer is going to be so much fun! Reminder- Must sign up the shrimp for swimming lessons!

Little Grace also hit her 16 month mark last weekend, and she finally reached 20 lbs!! She is running around everywhere and is starting to climb on furniture. Her favorite things are talking on the phone, and putting things and taking things out of her purse. She also likes to hide important objects in obscure places, hence my new phone. :) Little Grace also seems as healthy as she's been in a while. We have had her on Nasonex for a month now, and it must be working. We go back to the ENT doctor on Monday for a follow-up, so hopefully we will get a good report!

As far as the house goes, inspections went well and we are all set to close February 11th now. It's going to be a busy 3 weeks!!

Excited and Overwhelmed!!

Well, after 24 hours at the beach with my friend I am feeling a tiny bit overwhelmed. She had great ideas, but about everything... I sure have a lot of work ahead of me to get the villa ready by Easter. On top of that task we need to get our townhouse ready to sell, the townhouse packed, and the new house needs some work before we move and lots after we move in... I guess these are the stressful but fun parts of being a responsible adult.

On to some really fun stuff... I have been collecting inspiration photos for the last year and I am excited to finally put them to use!! The question is where to begin. I am thinking we will start with the kitchen since it is the heart of the home. The current kitchen has loads of white (short) cabinets, white appliances, lemonade walls and the jewel of the kitchen, blue formica! :) Here is the before picture of our new home's "heart."

The good thing is, I do love white so I think the cabinets will work. I am just trying to decide which granite, backsplash, lighting, hardware, and paint. Our floors will be refinished in a dark espresso color. Hmmmm so many choices!

*Unfortunately, I have been collecting these without the intention of putting them on the blog so I have no clue where any of them came from! Oops!! If you know the source of one let me know, thanks!!

Home At Last!!

Well, I know I said I would be back "tomorrow," but so much has been going on... T.J. has been sick, little Grace Taylor has been sick, and ... we got the house!! Yay!! This is the short sale that we put an offer in over 2 months ago. The bank finally answered yesterday with a big "Yes," and we are set to close on Valentine's Day! In the words of my dear friend Courtney, "it will be the House of Love."

I am heading down to Seabrook tonight with a good friend who has an eye for design and most importantly and eye for DIY! Hopefully we can wrap up that project so our little villa will be ready to rent by the Spring!!

And of course, it's a late NYE post

I apologize. I truly thought I would start 2011 with passion, conviction, and honestly much more stamina than I currently am able to muster up... I am hoping the lack of enthusiasm is due to the weather, and more importantly the huge question mark looming over the future of our house situation...

As the regular readers of the blog know, we made an offer on a short sale home almost 2 months ago. We were told by our realtor, and the seller's realtor that it would be a fairly quick process (compared to most short sales). For the last 4 weeks we have received several emails saying it is only a matter of days before we hear from the bank, or it is a verbal "yes," and it is a matter of days before it is in writing. Blah. Blah. Blah... I am actually doing quite fine, despite the fact that I am a "planner" type and do not know where I may be living in the next month. I guess this is where my faith comes in. Also, I would like to thank the chaos that comes with the most wonderful season of the year. Needless to say, I have stayed quite distracted. I suppose the most assuring thing has been I am so trustful in God's timing. I know with all my heart that if this is "our house" then it will be. If not, then I know God has something else in mind. With that said, in the last 2 months I have kept my out on other prospects, and on Christmas Eve, something came up...

Now, I believe this one truly, honestly, could be the one that I, excuse me, WE, could spend our whole life in making our home. I am trying not to get ahead of myself, but it is so hard to stay rational all of the time. I know that this update may sound confusing, but I feel comforted in God's plan, and I know that house A or B would be superb for this Little family! Anyways, here are are couple of New Year's Eve pics to wrap up 2010. I will be back tomorrow with my resolutions and the plan for the Little Family in 2011. XOXO

Christmas 2010

I am sorry the Christmas posts are always a bit delayed... I am quite impressed with the ladies who have posts complete with pictures on Christmas day. Hats off to you! I, on the other hand have been to busy to post. My younger sister was here for about 3 weeks, and my brother Cody came in for 1 week. Juggling Christmas at our house, my extended family and T.J.'s extended family was quite wonderful but draining as well. Christmas is my favorite time of year and it always goes by way too fast. It is almost to fast to enjoy. I try shopping, wrapping, and decorating a head of time, but I am always a little more rushed than I would like to be. Oh well, it will still always be my favorite time of year. Merry late Christmas! Here is the first round of photos from our Little Christmas!

My brother Michael flew to Italy today, Brother-in-law, Greg flew to Kenya and my little sister, Monica flew to Hawaii. Our house feels quiet and empty, and the city of Charlotte is lacking 3 special people. Safe travels everyone!
