And We're Off...

Little Grace has started crawling, well kind of. She has the motion down and she can get into crawling position with no problem at all, it's her sense of direction that is off. She crawls backwards!! Sounds more difficult to me, but she has mastered it! We even lay her favorite things in front of her, wooing her forward but none the less she moves backwards in a circle to get to them. Smart kid, well I think... Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!

On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful

Last weekend we had the best time introducing the wonderful beach life to Grace Taylor. She was a huge fan of everything. Long walks on the beach, playing in the sand, skinny dipping in the ocean, and splashing in the pool. I can't wait to spend many more days with her doing her favorite things.

Grace Taylor at 8 Months

My word, I can not believe my sweet little baby girl is 8 months old already!!! I have no idea where the last 4 months went!!! This weekend we spent the little one's 8 month birthday at Seabrook. She had the time of her little life!! Tons of pics to follow but first our 8 month stats...

Length: 27 inches
Weight: 16.8 pounds

* Slept through the night 3 nights in a row, and now back to getting up once or twice. We will get there soon! :)

* Starting to crawl. Can get on all fours from sitting position and rocks back and forth or scoots backwards. Can roll all over the place!

* Says dadadadada, babbababa, blablahblah, and mmmmmaammmaaa. She is constantly jibber jabbering and singing.

* Love loves the water, whether it's in the bath, shower, pool, ocean or even in a water bottle she is in awe! Loves her bunny blanket, being tickled, car rides, Mommy and Daddy and being held.

Happy Mother's Day

I know I am a tad late, but I guess I can get a free pass since it is my first official Mother's Day. Well, Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of the special moms and granmom's out there! What a wonderful bond we all have. I am so thankful to be a mom and especially grateful to be Grace Taylor Little's Momma! We had a really nice day all things considering... T.J. had all four wisdom teeth taken out Friday so he was trying his best to make the day special, but was a little loopy come Sunday morning. Even still we made it to church and then had a really nice lunch at The Flying Biscuit. Then we spent the evening with Lolli and Pop (T.J.'s parents). All in all it was a wonderful day!

"Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations,"The LORD has done great things for them.
"The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
Psalms 126:2 & 3

What's In a Name?

Isn't Grace Kelly just sooo beautiful??

Anyways a blog I follow from time to time was all about baby names today, and I must admit it's one of my favorite topics of conversation! I guess the fact that my first born has three names should be proof enough for that matter. Grace Taylor Maureen's name was pretty much decided the minute she came into this world. T.J. and I finally settled on Grace Taylor, with the agreement that if she was dark (olive skin, brown eyes &/or hair) she would go by Taylor-his favorite, and if is she was fair skinned/hair she would go by Grace-my favorite. I have always loved the name Grace, for it's beautiful meaning, and maybe a little because I am obsessed with Grace Kelly ;) My little sister's middle name is Taylor which I picked out for her and have always been a fan of. It really wasn't until after delivery that without a question in my mind, I knew I had to have my Mom's name Maureen in there as well, and so Grace Taylor Maureen was born...
I thought after she was born I would stop obsessing over baby names, but that hasn't been the case. The next time around we are going to try and be surprised with the sex. This will make things really exciting, and I suppose we will have to be ready with a boy and girl name. However, over the retreat I discovered a name that will work for both! Bennett! It means "little blessed one." I had the name on my list for a boy before, but just heard it the other day for a girl and I love the idea! If we used it for a girl then I would do a really feminine middle name, maybe Bennett Elizabeth or Bennett Katherine. For a boy, we would do Bennett Thomas (after T.J. and his Dad). So fun to think about!

Well, I must go take care of my patient. Poor T.J. had all four wisdom teeth taken out this morning, and I am not sure if he really is in this much pain, or if he just likes all of the attention. Either way, gotta run!
