Well, last night we took our sweet baby to see Santa! I had a feeling it would go this way, and little Grace Taylor didn't disappoint. She was terrified... I felt terrible for laughing, but I am sure she will get a kick out of it later. In Santa's words, "You can't win them all." Merry Christmas!

Today, our peanut had her 15 month check-up. There are a couple of things our Doctor is worried about so we will see an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist for the second time next week. We will also have a follow-up with our pediatrician in two weeks. Prayers are welcomed for a clean bill of health. On a positive note, little Grace is finally walking everywhere. She is so stinking cute toddling around. She is 29 1/2 inches long, and 19.7 lbs. She is in the 50th percentile for length, 10 % for weight, and a whopping 90% for head. She is a huge talker, the only thing is, she speaks her own language. It is hysterical because she really thinks she is communicating. It honestly sounds Japanese. Well, we are off to see the guy in red tonight. Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas season so far!

I love decorating, and I especially love decorating for Christmas. This year I unfortunately had to go the less is more route due to my curious one year old, and the possibility of a move in January... Yes, we are still in negotiations on the house I spoke of a couple of weeks ago. It has been an odd experience pursuing a short sale. We certainly have to keep our emotions in check. In the back of my mind I know there is a possibility of moving next month, but I am cautious to get ahead of myself. Anyways, on to the decorations I did do. I pretty much did what I have done the past four years. I guess I am a sucker for garnet and gold!!!
Miss Priss got her very own wreath
Fresh wreaths for my reindeer
Our Glendale Springs tree smells soooo good!
Love reindeer ornments
My copycat pottery barn wreath
Now I need to make another, our new house has 2 front doors!

Well, this past weekend we went up to Blowing Rock for our Fourth Annual trip to cut down our tree! This weekend has probably become our favorite family tradition, and we really look forward to it all year. This year was especially great because for the second year in a row, it poured snow all weekend! Being a Florida girl, I am especially excited to see snow any chance I get. The weekend was absolutely wonderful, we cooked homemade soup, gingerbread cookies, and wrapped presents. Saturday we met family in Glendale Springs in the pouring snow and cut down our Christmas tree. We got a 10 1/2 footer that we almost lost on the drive home. Literally, it started coming off the car!! Luckily we made it home safely, and it is up and ready to be decorated. I love this time of year so much, and it is even more special sharing the season with our little peanut! She loved the snow by the way, and was so adorable in her little hat which kept coming down over her eyes. Just precious!!! Hopefully by tomorrow we will have trimmed the tree and decked the halls. It's definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Cutest mountain town ever!
I could eat this face!

I wish I could say it was to visit little Grace, but it was me! I must have been extra nice this year! Well long story short, T.J. surprised me with a trip to New York City!! Not only was I going to my favorite city in the world, but to see my favorite Michael Buble and as if that wasn't enough, the city would be decorated for Christmas!! So, so, so fun! It was an amazing 24 hours and I have been smiling ever since!
Oh, and to top it off Michael walked out and sang practically right in front of me!
I could smell him, he was so close!
A magical night

HAPPY THANKSGIVINGHope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving!! Every year I am more and more thankful for God's many blessings. We had a wonderful time visiting with family in Asheville. It was beautiful outside, and little Grace loved playing football and in the leaves. She made many new friends including her favorite, Barney the dog.
A little play action

Aren't sleeping babies the most beautiful thing in the world?!
Can you believe this sleeping beauty was little Grace one year ago. I know time flies, but I don't even recognize her. How can time pass so quickly and yet someone can incur so much change? I miss my tiny baby...

Sorry It has been awhile since I have updated you on the little peanut! I know I probably say this all of the time but she is in the cutest stage ever! Her adorable personality is really starting to show.
She has the sweetest, happiest disposition I have seen in a child her age. She loves to share (as long as you share right back). She loves to give hugs and kisses especially to Mommy and Daddy.
Grace loves to see her Uncle Mike and always pulls up on him and lays her head down on his shoulder.
She treasures her Binks (pacifier) and her blanky and can not be with out either one. You can tell she loves you if she is willing to share her Binks with you (whether you want it or not). :)
Her new favorite thing is watching Yo Gabba Gabba. She smiles and dances the whole time and lights up when she hears the theme song come on.
Grace loves other little babies and toddlers too. She always smiles and points at them. She is going to be very social.
Grace is in her element at Marshall's and Home Goods. She has become quite famous there, and has many friends she loves showing off for. She babbles really really loud for everyone to hear and then smiles bashfully.
She is the most careful little one, which is prolonging her walking. She can definitely do it and is up to 8 steps by herself, but she needs all eyes on her and lots of praise! After all, she is her father's daughter! :)
She is a little on the small side. She wear 6-12 months, or 9 months and a size 3 diaper. Weighs 20 lbs and I not sure how tall (sorry, she won't stay still for me to measure).
Only 2 bottom teeth, and one top tooth just broke through. She has been in and out of a cold so I think there are probably some more teeth on the way...
She sleeps through the night about 50% of the time. It's hard to get any consistency since she is always under the weather.
Well, that is Miss Grace Taylor in a nutshell. She is changing everyday so I have to post more often. I don't want to forget any of this. She is the best thing in the whole wide world and I am soaking in every minute.

Well, we have put another offer on a house.... This will be the fourth one this year, but so far so good! We are the only offer, which was our problem with the last three (multi-offer bidding wars are no friend of ours). This home is a short sale so we are on the bank's timeline, but hopefully we will hear something sooner rather than later. We want the green light to get excited!!
Looking at homes has become a hobby for T.J. and I, and it will be bittersweet when we have to stop. Moving out of our townhouse will also be bittersweet. This is where began sharing our life together, where we brought our daughter home, where we built the first three plus years of our marriage. I love this townhouse, but am excited for our next chapter!! Here are some pics of our place. Let me know if you know someone interested in an adorable 3 bed, 3 bath in Ballantyne! :)

I have to go ahead and admit it... I have no design capabilities of my own, no creative crafty ideas that I can call mine. Sometimes I can think of something, but most of the time I am just tweaking somebody's else's idea. In this case, I pretty much imitated the exact thing because I am cheap. Scratch that, I am frugal. Fiscally responsible. :)
One of my favorites places to draw inspiration from is Pottery Barn. I just love pretty much everything they do, and have for years. We registered there when we got married and I have been smitten with their designs ever since. I especially look forward to their Fall and Christmas catalogs. This year I decided we needed a Fall wreath, so to trusty PB I looked. I can't remember what they were selling theirs for, but I made mine for $6. I just love Dollar Tree!! Grace helped me pick out which leaves to glue on next. The whole thing probably took 20 minutes.
I copied there Christmas wreath three years ago, and they are still selling it today for $79.00, I can't remember what mine costs to make, but it was probably around $15-$20.
